PIPPA PASSES — Magoffin County pulled away to defeat June Buchanan 3-1 in a non-district match on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The Lady Hornets won 25-23, 20-25, 25-18, 25-18.
Magoffin County finished strong in the non-district match, prevailing on the road.
Karlee Wallen (3 kills, 3 service aces) Lucy Whitaker (2 kills, 1 assist, 2 service aces, 1 dig), Finley Rudd (1 kill, 4 service aces, 3 digs), Ileana Torices (1 kill, 4 service aces), Ava Gibson (4 kills, 1 assist, 4 digs), Maddie Salyer (4 kills, 1 assist, 2 service aces), Kellen Simpkins (10 assists, 1 service ace, 1 dig), Ellie Allen (1 assist, 2 digs), Larah Salyer (6 digs), Ashlynn Risner (2 digs), Addyson McCarty (1 dig), Kylee Glidden, Ava Hensley, Kaylee Wireman, Madison Hirst and Allison Hirst each aided Magoffin County in its win.
Magoffin County and June Buchanan aren’t scheduled to meet again in the 2026 high school volleyball season.
