SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County graduate Jaylynn Lafferty is preparing to play softball at the next level.
And she’ll be competing for an in-state school that is close to home.
Earlier in the month, Lafferty signed with the Alice Lloyd College softball program.
Lafferty is projected to play catcher for her new team.
Excelling for Tony Skaggs-coached Magoffin County throughout her senior campaign, Lafferty batted .397 with 27 hits, 26 RBIs, seven doubles and two home runs. Lafferty helped Magoffin County compile a 17-12 record in the 2023 high school softball season.
Alice Lloyd will open its 2024 season in February. The Eagles compete in the River States Conference. Alice Lloyd is among the teams in the River States Conference’s East Division. The River States Conference is made up of the following teams: Alice Lloyd, Rio Grande, Point Park, WVU Tech, Ohio Christian, Carlow, Indiana Southeast, Midway, Oakland City, Brescia.
