Magoffin County rolls past Jackson City 12-2

SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County rolled past Jackson City 12-2 in five innings on Wednesday, April 17.

Former 15th Region champion Magoffin County notched its second straight win.

Magoffin County scored first and never trailed. The Lady Hornets gradually pulled away to defeat Jackson City convincingly.

Magoffin County pitcher Jaden Williams held Jackson City hitless and claimed the win in the circle. Turning in a strong pitching performance, Williams recorded 11 strikeouts and walked only one batter. Williams threw 78 pitches over five innings.

Natalie Napier pitched for Jackson City and suffered the loss in the circle.

Magoffin County scored 12 runs on 15 hits. Williams led Magoffin County at the plate, finishing four-for-four with a double and two RBIs.

Along with Williams, a balanced offensive attack for Magoffin County featured Kiley Lemaster (three hits, three RBIs), Katie Carty (three hits), Laney Bledsoe (two hits, two RBIs), Kayleigh Lemaster (one hit, three RBIs), Abby Barnett (one hit, one RBI), Isabella Trusty (one hit) and Daylin Patrick (one RBI).

Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Jackson City for a late-season game on Wednesday, May 15.
