SALYERSVILLE – Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Phelps for its second game in the 2020-21 girls’ high school basketball season on Thursday, Jan. 7.
Magoffin County is 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the 57th District. Less than two seasons removed from competing in the 15th Region Girls’ Basketball Tournament, Magoffin County lost a 2020-21 season opener to Martin County on Monday, Jan. 4.
Phelps is 0-1. Shelby Valley rolled past Phelps 83-33 in a girls’ high school basketball season opener on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
Magoffin County ended the 2019-20 season 2-26.
Phelps defeated Magoffin County 42-27 when the two 15th Region team met in the second half of the 2019-20 girls’ high school basketball season.
During its most recent campaign, Phelps managed to compile a winning record.
Following a loss to Pike County Central in the 60th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament Semifinals, Phelps concluded the 2019-20 season 18-12.
Magoffin County and Phelps are slated to meet only once during the 2020-21 girls’ high school basketball season.
Tip-off for the Magoffin County-Phelps hoops matchup is set for 7:30 p.m.
