SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is among the high school cross country programs scheduled to compete in the Paintsville Meet 1 on Monday, Sept. 14.
The upcoming cross country meet will be held at the Paintsville Lake Dam. Runners competing in the meet will run a modified version of the Kiwanis Trail. The meet is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
Magoffin County started competing in the 2026 high school cross country season in August.
Both Magoffin County and Paintsville are members of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s Class 1A, Region 7. The alignment for Class 1A, Region 7 is as follows: Belfry, Betsy Layne, East Ridge, Elliott County, Fairview, Floyd Central, Holy Family, Lewis County, Magoffin County, Martin County, Menifee County, Morgan County, Paintsville, Phelps, Piarist, Pike County Central, Pikeville, Prestonsburg, Raceland, Rose Hill Christian, Shelby Valley, West Carter.
