SALYERSVILLE — Preparing for the 2023 high school football season, Magoffin County is scheduled to host 7-on-7 passing sessions July 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27.
The passing sessions are open to any other high school football teams.
Each session will start at 6:30 p.m.
Under the direction of Coach John DeRossett and his coaching staff, Magoffin County is expected to continue to show improvement in the 2023 high school football season.
After falling to former state champion Ashland in the opening round of the Class 3A Playoffs, Magoffin County exited the 2022 high school football season 4-7. The Hornets notched wins over Knott County Central, Bellevue, Floyd Central and rival Morgan County in 2022. Magoffin County dropped games to Breathitt County, Prestonsburg, Lawrence County, Belfry, Pike County Central, Clay County and Ashland during the 2022 season.
Several experienced players are due back on the gridiron for Magoffin County in the upcoming high school football campaign.
Magoffin County has conducted workouts throughout the offseason.
Following the conclusion of the KHSAA Dead Period, Magoffin County will open preseason practice at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 10.
