Maxie Lowell Carty age 85 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026 at the Riverview Nursing and Rehab Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was born November 04, 1940 at Lakeville, Kentucky to the late Edgar and Ruie Penix Carty.
Survived by one son, Max Gerald Carty of Salyersville, Kentucky, one daughter, Lisa Ann and husband, Junior Smith of Leburn, Kentucky, three brothers, Arlen Carty, James Edwin Carty, Dorsie Lee Carty all of Salyersville, Kentucky, two sisters, Glenda Sue Minix of Salyersville, Kentucky, Brenda Kay Carty of Salyersville, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Joel Carty, Abbie and husband Austin Craig, Brittany Smith, Brandon Smith, and one great granddaughter, Deliah Craig.
In addition to his parents, Max is preceded in death by his wife, Inis Taulbee Carty, three brothers, Ernest Carty, Ovie Carty, Arnold Carty, three sisters, Mollie Jackson, Imogene Keeton, and Marlene Hall.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 03, 2026 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Cole and Herman Roberts officiating. Burial followed in the Carty Cemetery at Stinson, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
