Melvin Minix age 70 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Highlands ARH Hospital in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was born November 03, 1955 in Breathitt County, Kentucky to the late Ansel and Ruth Rowe Minix.
Survived by one son, Curtis (Lauren) Marshall of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, two daughters, Karena Rae (John) McCarty of Salyersville, Kentucky, Becca Rae (Joe) Rowe of Lima, Ohio, four brothers, Mindell (Brenda) Minix, Marvin (Mary Ann) Minix, Lonnie (Wanda) Minix all of Salyersville, Kentucky, Kash (Barb) Minix of Jackson, Kentucky, one sister, Glenna (Wilson) Mullins of Salyersville, Kentucky, five grandchildren, Peyton McCarty, Levi Marshall, Clay Marshall, Bobbie Rowe, Kellie Rowe, with a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, special friend, Rita Prater, her daughters, Bobbie, Carrie, and her grandchildren, Cody and Aspen.
In addition to his parents, Melvin is preceded in death by one infant sister, Wonnie Minix.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 31, 2026 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Malcom Slone officiating. Burial followed in the Menifee Watson Cemetery at Tip Top, Kentucky.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
