Ronald Gene Poe

Ronald Gene Poe age 75 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his home. He was born July 05, 1945 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Ed and Ethel Mae Helton Poe.

Survivors include, two sons, Brett (Kim) Higgins of Georgetown, Kentucky, Jason Higgins of Lexington, Kentucky, three daughters, Tammy (Charles) Preston of Paoli, Indiana, Tina (Billy) Mullins of Salyersville, Kentucky, Jennifer (Harold) Rayburn of Georgetown, Kentucky, one brother, Kenneth Poe of Salyersville, Kentucky, one sister, Janice Conley of Newport, Kentucky, thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and fiancée, Dianna Arrington.

In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his first wife, Almeda Perkins Poe, second wife, Lydia “Lou” Conley Poe, three brothers, Charles Poe, James Douglas “JD” Poe, Bobby Dean Poe, three sisters, Shelvie Jo Crace, Blenda Jenkins, and Peggy Poe.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 22, 2021 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home with John Blanton, and C.J. Tackett officiating. Burial followed in the Highlands Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested contributions to be made, in honor of Ronald Gene Poe, to the State Road Fork United Baptist Church, P.O. Box 454, Salyersville, Kentucky 41465.

Arrangements were under the care of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.

    I am so sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. High school friends long ago. I knew both Almeda and Lydia. They were wonderful women. We will see him in glory, with our Savior Jesus Christ.
