Stacy leads Transy to 57th consecutive win

LEXINGTON — Magoffin County High School graduate Kennedi Stacy scored a game-high 20 points to lead second-ranked Transylvania over Franklin 88-47 in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s basketball game on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Extending the NCAA’s longest active win streak to 57 games, Transylvania captured its third straight outright Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title.

In addition, Transylvania head coach Juli Fulks earned her 393rd career win.

The Pioneers are one win away from tying DePauw University’s record of 58 straight wins.

Competing for Transylvania in her fifth year, Stacy has scored over 1,000 points and pulled down 500-plus rebounds as part of an exceptional collegiate career. Stacy, a talented guard, helped to lead Transylvania to the 2022-23 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship. She was named the 2022-23 HCAC Defensive Player of the Year.

The Pioneers hosted Franklin for a home finale. Transylvania is scheduled to visit Earlham for a regular season finale on Friday, Feb. 16. Tip-off for the Transylvania-Earlham women’s basketball game is set for 7 p.m.
