Rick Fletcher, age 72, a resident of Gardner Trail in Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at ARH Paintsville in Paintsville, Kentucky with family.
Born October 13, 1953, in Royalton, Kentucky the son of the late Robert and Dorothy Salyer Fletcher. Sisters, Ruby May, Beverly Fletcher, Barbara Smith, Mandy Love, Teresa Whitaker, Betty Bauer, Elsie Arnett, Mollie Combs, Ethel Mae Lawrence, brothers, Buford Fletcher, Norman Fletcher, Dallas Fletcher, Jimmie Fletcher, also preceded in death.
Rick was employed by the Magoffin County School System in maintenance at Salyer Elementary. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Those left to mourn includes wife, Vernie Gibbs Fletcher of Salyersville, Kentucky, sons, Ricky James Fletcher of Salyersville, Kentucky, Dalton Fletcher and Abigail Frisby of Salyersville, Kentucky, special niece, Cathy McCarty of Royalton, Kentucky, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Rick Fletcher were conducted Saturday, May 23, 2026, from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. Clergy Beecher McCarty Jr. and David Minix delivered comforting words on the day of service. Interment followed in the Bluegrass Cemetery in Salyersville, Kentucky.
