James Marshall age 83 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the Highlands ARH, Prestonsburg, Kentucky. James was born, June 22, 1943 in Carey, Ohio to the late Lyn and Mollie Patrick Marshall.
James is survived by his wife of 59 years Ruby Marshall, two sons; James D. “Jim” Marshall and John T. “J.T.” Marshall, one sister; Dorothy Preston.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by two brothers; Holland Marshall and Thomas Marshall and two sisters; Hazel Judd and Louise Cook.
James proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was a man of many occupations and trades.
There will be a graveside service with full military honors given at 12 noon, Thursday, October 29, 2026 from the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, 100 Veterans Memorial Drive, Grayson, Kentucky 41143. Officiating will be Manuel Minix. Processional to the cemetery will be leaving the Magoffin County Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2026.
