SALYERSVILLE – A man wanted in a Floyd County stolen vehicle case was arrested in Magoffin over the weekend.

According to the arrest citation, Ricky L. Goble, 56, of Prestonsburg, was arrested by Kentucky State Police Post 9 Trooper Tracy Salyer at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, on KY 114.

Goble was wanted in a Floyd County case and charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more and persistent felony offender.

According to the warrant, on the night of December 31, 2019, Goble allegedly exercised control over a stolen 2018 Toyota Tacoma, when after the truck was stolen, he reportedly brought the truck and parked it in the immediate area of his home on Abbot Creek. The warrant also alleges that Goble used the stolen vehicle to travel to a neighboring county and used it to commit the theft of another vehicle, for which he has pending charges for.

Goble previously had been convicted in two other felony cases from 1997 and 1998 in Floyd County, resulting in the persistent felony offender (second degree) charge.

At press time, Goble remains at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. He was arraigned on December 9 in the Floyd County felony case.
