Kenneth Delvis “Tucker” Bailey

Kenneth Delvis “Tucker” Bailey age 80 of Lebanon, KY, formerly of Salyersville, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024. He was born June 9, 1944, at Tip Top in Magoffin County, KY to the late Sherman and Lexie Preston Bailey. He was the husband of Alice Fouda Bailey, who survives. He was a retired coal mine operator, prospector and construction manager.

He is survived by five children: two sons and one daughter with his first wife, the late Rebecca Sprague Clark; Kenneth Dean (Jincy) Bailey of Salyersville, KY; John Darrell (Cyndi) Bailey of Lebanon, KY; and Leah Bailey (Kevin) Brock of Germantown, OH. He is also survived by a son, Jeramy Brown Bailey of Richmond, KY who he had with his second wife Judy Brown Connelley, of Lexington KY, who survives; and a daughter, Ashley Tiffany Bailey, of Stanton, KY who he had with his surviving wife Alice. He is also survived by his third wife, Mary Sue Driver of Nicholasville, KY.

Other survivors include one sister, Leveda Bailey Law, of Boone, NC; one brother Darrell (Diane) Bailey of Memphis, TN; one brother-in-law, Donald Young of Ashland, KY; ten grandchildren, Olivia Jane Bailey (Jonathan) Wireman, John Tucker Bailey and Marshall Preston Bailey, all of Salyersville, KY; Anthony Dominic (Emily) Tisheuar of Louisville, KY; Evan Hunter (Marci) Tisheuar of Georgetown, KY; Kendrick Alvin (Karen) Claw of Kansas City, KS; Charnay Taylor Bailey-Claw of Pontotoc, MS; Oleda Chantel Bailey and Davin Lee Bailey, both of High Point, NC; Danica Elaine Bailey of Lebanon, KY; and Tyler Wayne Brock of Germantown, OH. Seven great-grandchildren also survive; Jon Ross Wireman, Owen James Wireman, Wesley, Andrew, Allison, Blake and Haley, along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas (Wilma) Bailey; five sisters, Brookie Lea (Chalmer) Whitt, Ruth Ellen “Tootsie” (Arthur) Bailey, Leola (Oscar) Cole, Fayetta Bailey, and Pensacola Young. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Law and an infant sister, Garbel Bailey.

Tucker, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, lived life to the fullest. As a young man, he was educated at Tip Top School, Salyersville High School, Hazel Green Academy and Eastern Kentucky University. He obtained his pilot’s license and enjoyed traveling the world. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his children on the water, in the woods or at the range. He also passed this love of nature to many of his extended family members. He left a great legacy of steadfast love to his children and grandchildren.

A memorial service for Kenneth Delvis “Tucker” Bailey will be held Saturday, June 29th at 1:00 p.m. at the Magoffin County Funeral Home in Salyersville, KY. Friends may visit the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial will follow at the Cleve Bailey Cemetery at Tip Top, KY with the Magoffin County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
