Angola – Odelia Shepherd, 76 of Angola and formerly of Corunna, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Lakeland Healthcare in Angola.
She was born on October 6, 1949 in Martin, Kentucky to Delbert and Matilda (Martin) Gearheart.
Odelia was a 1967 graduate of Garrett High School in Garrett, Kentucky.
She worked as a custodian for the DeKalb Central United Schools for 22 years before retiring in 2010.
Odelia was a member of the Cedar Lake Church of Christ, Waterloo and belonged to the Missions Circle through the church.
She liked gardening, nature and being outdoors but her true passion and love was being around and spending time with her family and friends.
She married Farley Shepherd on January 6, 1973 in Garrett, Indiana and he passed away February 27, 2012.
Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jamie Shepherd of Angola; 2 granddaughters, Ruby Shepherd and Delilah Grandstaff; sister and brother-in-law, Clydia and Al Arroyo of LaPorte, Indiana; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary Keith and Wanda Gearheart of South Carolina and Dulton and Brenda Gearheart of Hueysville, Kentucky; there are also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
Services will be 4 pm Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street, Waterloo, IN 46793 with Jonathan Pennington officiating. Visitation is 2 hours prior to the service Sunday from 2 to 4 PM at the funeral home. Additional Services will be Wednesday June 3, 2026 at 1 PM at the Brushy Fork Baptist Church in Gunlock, Kentucky. Visitation there will be 2 hours prior to the service from 11 to 1 Wednesday at the church. Burial will take place following the service in Shepherd Cemetery, Gunlock, Kentucky.
