PAINTSVILLE — Magoffin County is set to face Martin County in the semifinals of the 57th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament at Johnson Central High School on Monday, Feb. 21.
Tip-off for the Magoffin County-Martin County hoops matchup is slated for 6:30 p.m..
The winner from the Magoffin County-Martin County game will move on to the 57th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament title game.
Martin County swept a pair of 57th District games from Magoffin County earlier in the 2021-22 season.
Crosstown rivals Paintsville and Johnson Central are scheduled to meet in the nightcap of the 57th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 21.
Both the champion and runner-up from the 57th District will advance to the 15th Region Girls’ Basketball Tournament.
Johnson Central is the reigning 57th District girls’ basketball champion. The Lady Eagles pulled away to defeat rival Paintsville 51-31 in the 2020-21 15th Region Girls’ Basketball Tournament title game.
