LIMESTONE – A Salyersville man is in jail after allegedly stabbing another man who attempted to stop a physical altercation with a female.
According to the police report, on the night of June 7 Kentucky State Police received multiple 911 calls from a residence on Limestone Branch in Magoffin County.
Once at the residence, KSP Trooper W. Hall reported seeing blood all over the residence, including a knife stuck in a table.
Police believe Rickie W. Romine, 52, of Salyersville, was in a physical altercation with an adult female and, during the altercation, another man heard the woman calling for help, so he entered the residence and was allegedly stabbed by Romine near his back, according to the arrest citation.
The female victim told police she had sore ribs and marks on her arm, according to the citation.
Romine told police multiple times that he will kill the female victim within three hours of getting out of jail, according to the police report.
Romine was arrested and taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, where he remains at press time, and charged with first-degree assault, fourth-degree assault (minor injury); and first-degree terroristic threatening.
A preliminary hearing is set in Romine’s felony case for June 16 at 9:15 a.m. at the Magoffin County Justice Center.
