Magoffin County to visit Floyd Central April 7

SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Floyd Central for its next game in the 2026 high school softball season on Tuesday, April 7.

The Lady Hornets entered spring break with a 2-0 record.

Magoffin County defeated visiting Prestonsburg 13-3 in six innings in its season opener on Monday, March 23.

Then, following the victory over Prestonsburg, Magoffin County beat host Betsy Layne 14-1 in five innings on Thursday, March 26.

Floyd Central entered April with a 5-1 record. The Lady Jaguars are slated to compete at The Ripken Experience Friday, April 3-Saturday, April 4.

Magoffin County lost to Floyd Central twice during the 2025 high school softball season.

Both Magoffin County and Floyd Central were ranked in the Kentucky Prep Softball Preseason 15th Region Poll. Magoffin County was ranked eighth and Floyd Central fifth.

First pitch for the Magoffin County-Floyd Central softball game is set for 6 p.m.
