SANDY HOOK — Magoffin County shut out Elliott County 3-0 in a non-district match on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
The Lady Hornets controlled the match, winning 25-9, 25-14, 25-13.
Magoffin County improved to 5-3 after notching the win.
Excelling on the road, Magoffin County registered its third consecutive win, prevailing via shutout for the second straight outing.
Karlee Wallen (8 kills, 1 assist, 4 service aces), Kaylee Wireman (1 kill), Lucy Whitaker (2 kills), Ileana Torices (2 kills, 1 assist, 3 service aces), Ava Gibson (1 kill, 3 assists, 3 service aces), Maddie Salyer (1 kill, 4 service aces), Kellen Simpkins (10 assists, 4 service aces), Ava Hensley (3 service aces), Kylee Glidden (1 service ace) and Ashlynn Risner each aided Magoffin County in its shutout win.
The Lady Hornets continue to show improvement in the 2026 high school volleyball season.
Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Elliott County for another non-district match on Monday, Sept. 28.
