SALYERSVILLE – A dozen Magoffin County seniors competed for the Hornets during the 2020 high school football season, a campaign which ended following a postseason game.
Magoffin County’s roster for the 2020 high school football season featured seniors Zach Conley, Christian Gamble, Caleb Howard, Jacob Howard, Lucas Litteral, Nick Mollett, Aaron Perkins, Levi Rudd, Isaiah Salyer, Brad Standifer, Andrew Wallen and James Wallen.
The Hornets, under the guidance of head coach Chris Gamble, made an appearance in the KHSAA Class 3A Playoffs.
Magoffin County faced adversity throughout the 2020 high school football season. However, Magoffin County overcame the adversity to advance to the postseason.
Magoffin County compiled a 3-4 record in the 2020 high school football season. The Hornets notched regular season wins over Betsy Layne, Martin County and Class 3A, District 8 rival Floyd Central.
Magoffin County advanced to the playoffs for the first time since in the 2014 high school football season.
After losing a dozen seniors, Magoffin County will look to reload for the 2021 high school football campaign.
