SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County standout Abby Barnett concluded her high school career in the East-West All-Star Series in late-June.
Barnett competed for the East Senior All-Stars.
As a high school student-athlete, Barnett excelled for Magoffin County in softball, basketball and volleyball.
Barnett batted .409 with 27 hits, 17 RBIs, seven doubles and five home runs in the 2026 high school softball season. The Magoffin County senior scored 32 runs, drew eight walks and recorded 20 stolen bases.
Prior to the softball campaign, Barnett led Magoffin County in the 2025-26 girls’ high school basketball season. As a senior in the 2025-26 girls’ high school basketball season, Barnett paced Magoffin County in both scoring and rebounding. Barnett averaged double figures in scoring for Magoffin County in the 2025-26 girls’ high school basketball season.
Starting her senior year strong, Barnett was among Magoffin County’s leaders in the 2025 high school volleyball campaign. Barnett paced the Magoffin County volleyball team in blocks.
Each Magoffin County team that Barnett played for showed improvement in its latest season.
Among the state’s leading female high school student-athletes, Barnett competed in the East-West All-Star Series in back-to-back years.
