BLOOMINGTON – A death investigation is underway concerning a man found in the roadway in the Bloomington area on Tuesday.
According to Magoffin County Sheriff Bill Meade, just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24 Magoffin County 911 received a call reporting an individual lying in the roadway, unresponsive.
“The Magoffin County Rescue Squad, EMS, the sheriff’s department responded to the call and later the Kentucky State Police was called, and it was requested to conduct an investigation into the death of a white male,” Sheriff Meade said. “The Kentucky State Police is still conducting that investigation and the sheriff’s office is assisting in that manner and at this point there’s really not a lot of information to share right now.”
The case remains open, with KSP Detective Tackett leading the investigation and the body has been sent for an autopsy.
At press time, Kentucky State Police has not released any information regarding the investigation.
The name of the man has not been released to the public at this time.
