Elwood Bailey age 79 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at his home. He was born January 21, 1942 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Dorsey and Josephine Howard Bailey.
Elwood grew up on Bear Branch in Magoffin County, He met his soulmate Irene Allen and was married on May 26, 1965. From this union they have three sons, Terry (Narda) Bailey, Eddie Bailey, James (Crystal) Bailey, all of Salyersville, Kentucky.
Survived by his wife, three sons, two brothers, Deloie “Bill” Bailey, Bobby Bailey, four sister, Jeanette Helton, Loretta Allen, Flora Whitten, Deloris James, thirteen grandchildren, Heather (John) Kazee, Kayla Bailey, Casey Romine, Terrence Bailey, Talynn Bailey, Austin Bailey, Skyler Bailey, Nick Bailey, Emily Bailey, Sophie Bailey, Cory (Haley) Watson, Brady Watson, Benji Watson, three great grandchildren, MiLa Arnett, Chloe Watson, and Cora Watson.
Elwood made his living in construction and electrical, but he loved to fish, hunt, and use his hands to build things. He was a dedicated member of the Elk Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Elwood was a family man and loved his family dearly.
Visitation was held for family and friends Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
