Emma Ruth Ward Skaggs age 77 of Coon Creek Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Highlands ARH in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She was born May 29, 1947 in Montgomery County, Kentucky to the late Sanford and Melda Montgomery Ward.
Survived by three sons, Tony (Angela) Skaggs, Dwayne (Lamiki) Skaggs, Allen (Jenny) Skaggs all of Salyersville, Kentucky, one brother, Garrett Ward of Salyersville, Kentucky, three sisters, Nevalee Reed of Dayton, Ohio, Connie (Bill) Hunter, Gail (Frank) Phipps both of West Liberty, Kentucky, three grandchildren, Haley (Wesley) Miller, Hannah (Jacob) Sparks, Kobie Hicks, a special sister, Wilma Jean Ward, one sister-in-law, Gay Ward, and one brother-in-law, J.D. Jenkins.
In addition to her parents, Emma Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Skaggs, one brother, Charles Ward, two sisters, Zelma Jenkins, and Judy Francis.
Emma Ruth was a faithful member of the Coon Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, January 02, 2025 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Blair, Mark Russell, Rick Howard, and Michael Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Skaggs Family Cemetery, at Coon Creek, Kentucky.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
