Haskel “Hack” Patrick

Haskel “Hack” Patrick, age 89, a resident of Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Herschel Woody Williams VA Center in Huntington, West Virginia.

Haskel was born December 8, 1931 in Gullet, Kentucky, the son of Beecher Patrick and Maude Arnett Patrick. He was preceded in death by his wife Halibea Arnett Patrick, his daughter Sherry Lynn Patrick Reed, his son Sam Patrick and his grandson Joey Reed. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Mag Gullett, Mildred Arnett, Nanny May, Chester Patrick, Maxie Powers, Lester Patrick, Joy Gullett and Charles Patrick. He is survived by one sister Janet Sue Adams, three grandchildren Jessey C. Reed, Jamey Reed, and Jeremy Reed, and a host of family and friends who love and miss him.

Haskel was a carpenter and hog farmer by trade. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1956, fighting in the Korean War. Living to be the oldest of his family, he raised his two children and his two youngest grandchildren. He maintained an active lifestyle and enjoyed being with his family and friends. Haskel was a devout follower and preacher of the Pentecostal faith, formerly attending Providence Pentecostal in Jackson, Kentucky.

Graveside services were held January 5, 2021 at the Patrick Family Cemetery on Middle Fork.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Salyersville Funeral Home.
