James Carty, of Means, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021. He was a 62 year old born in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the union of the late Chester and Helen Carpenter Carty, was an employee for Labor Union Local 189, and a member of the Christian faith.
He is survived by a son, Jamie Carty, 4 brothers, Charles D. (Velva) Carty, Johnny D. (Brenda) Carty, Lester D. Carty and Adron (Teresa) Carty 2 sisters, Ilene Carty and Maxine Carty, 3 sisters-in-law, Marie Arnett, Janet Carty and Joyce Carty, and several nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Dealis Arnett, Gus Carty, Dona Carty and Wayne Carty and 2 sisters, Imogene Carty and Anna Mae Yarber.
His funeral was held Tuesday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Jess Brewer presiding, with burial in Montgomery Cemetery in Foraker in Magoffin County.
