James Donald “Donnie” Gambill age 82 of Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026 at his home. He was born August 21,1943 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Corbit and Josephine Slusher Gambill.
Survived by his wife, Deborah Wireman Gambill, one son, Charles Corbit Gambill, one daughter, Karena Rae (John) McCarty, one daughter-in-law, Shelia Gambill, one brother, Kenneth Lee Gambill, four grandchildren, Tyler Brock (Becky) Gambill, Courtney Dawn Gambill (Roy Roberts), Charla (Cody) Hale, Peyton John McCarty, six great grandchildren, Ryleigh Gambill, Landon Gambill, James Gambill, Claire Roberts, Josie Roberts, Waylon Hale, one special nephew, Lee Gambill, one great-nephew, Kenny Lee Gambill.
In addition to his parents, Donnie is preceded in death by one son, James Donald Gambill, Jr., and one grandson, Taton Hall.
Donnie was a United States Army Veteran and proudly served his country.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
