John Wesley Patrick, age 82, a resident of Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Patrick was born September 26, 1941 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late Wardie and Ora Lee Allen Patrick. Son, Jeffery Wayne Patrick also preceded in death.
Mr. Patrick is a graduate of Salyersville High School and earned a Bachelors in Engineering. John was a farmer at heart. He moved with his wife to Akron, Indiana where he raised his family and had a successful career as a Molding Engineer for Singer and was a farmer for twenty-one years. He made friends that became family and made countless memories along the way. He moved his family back to Kentucky in 1983 to the place he always called home.
John lived his life to the fullest, he was an avid gardener, loved to fish, loved his family and friends fiercely, but above all, he loved the Lord. John began his walk with the Lord on March 31, 2001. He was a member of the Stinson United Baptist Church and a dedicated Deacon there for approximately twenty years. John took pride in his church and his church family.
Those left to mourn includes his wife, Minnie “Pudge” Patrick of Salyersville, KY, one daughter, Pamela (Douglas) Russell of Salyersville, Kentucky, three brothers, Charles (Patricia) Patrick, Randal Patrick, Donald Lee (Debbie) Patrick, one sister, Kathy (Doug) Puckett all of Salyersville, Kentucky, four granddaughters Alishia (Joshua) Carty of Salyersville, Kentucky, Lindsey (Wayde) Leedy of Salyersville, Kentucky, Amanda Patrick of Lexington, Kentucky, Cindy Patrick of Lexington, KY, ten great-grandchildren, Jacob Michael Allen, Jase Aaron Allen, Jonah Wesley Carty, Madeline Carty, Aiden Carty, Katie Carty, Miguel Guerrero, Moses Guerrero, Jayla Lyle and Elijah Lyle, one great-great grandchild, Easton Gayheart, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for John Wesley Patrick were conducted Monday, May 6, 2024 from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. Clergy Mark Russell and Joe Carroll delivered comforting words on the day of service. Interment followed in the Captain Powers Cemetery in Salyersville, Kentucky.
