Johnny Mack Owens, age 75, a resident of Johnny Mac Road in Gunlock, Kentucky; passed away Friday, June 4, 2021, in Salyersville, Kentucky.
Johnny Mack was born October 2, 1945, in Gunlock, Kentucky the son of Gladys Miller Wireman and the late Seldon Wireman and the late Noah Owens. Brothers, Gene Autry Owens, Roy Rogers Owens, grandchild, Paisley Marie Curtis, also preceded in death.
Johnny Mack was a graduate of Mayo Technical College where he earned an Associate Degree.
He was employed by Rumpke until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and bee farming.
Those left to mourn includes wife, Delores Solko Owens, whom he married November 20, 1965, of Gunlock, Kentucky, sons, John Owens and wife Tonya of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Jonathan Owens of Gunlock, Kentucky, daughters, Janie Owens Allen and husband Dexter of Salyersville, Kentucky, Gladys Owens Wireman and husband Chris of Gunlock, Kentucky, Elizabeth Owens Whitt and husband Bryan of Grand Junction, Colorado, brothers, Ricky Wireman of Royalton, Kentucky, Frank Owens of Campbell, Texas, Noah Owens of Lima, Ohio, sisters, Maggie Fox of Gunlock, Kentucky, Vonda Auxier of Royalton, Kentucky, Fannie Roberts of Gunlock, Kentucky, Paulette Eberhart of Dallas, Texas, seven grandchildren, Alexandria Allen, Kyle Allen, Emilee Knepp, Cody Curtis, Olyvia Conn, Dakota Conn, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Johnny Mack Owens were conducted Monday, June 7, 2021, from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. Clergy Kenny Bailey delivered comforting words on the day of service. Interment followed in the Miller Family Cemetery in Gunlock, Kentucky.
