Judy Kay Brown Salyer, age 68, a lifelong resident of Salyersville, Kentucky, departed this world Saturday, January 2nd 2021, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Judy was born April 14, 1952, in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Clifford and Crilda Frasure Brown.
Judy leaves behind a host of family and friends to mourn, including her beloved husband of 52 ½ years, Gerald Milton Salyer, her four children, Machelle (Charles Doc) Hardin, Alicia (Carl) Blair, Faith (Michael) Wilson, Gerald (Bobby Burton) Salyer II and Olivia Grace Salyer. She also leaves behind sixteen grandchildren: Kayla Marie Howard, Laken Elizabeth (Tyler) Holbrook, Alexandria Neil (Chance) Coffey, Lorna Nichole (Joshua) Minix, Morgan Taylor Wilson, Caleb Michael Wilson, Adrianna Lynn Salyer, Emily Jerica Salyer, John Payne Salyer, Julie Paige Salyer, Lauren Kennedy Hardin, Nicholas Gerald Hardin, Walter Edward Hardin, Megan Carol Hardin, Leonard (Erica) Blair, and Rebecca (Illiana) Blair. The beloved great grandchildren are also left behind to mourn the loss of their loving Mam.
In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Brown, Ernie Brown, Daniel Brown, Cilfford Jr. Brown, and two sisters, Becky Brown and Shelia Montgomery. Her loving mother in law, Olga Lee Salyer, also awaits Judy in the streets of heaven.
Judy was a woman of many talents and careers, and left a memorable impact on everyone she encountered. Being her family’s matriarch was the thing she was most proud of. Her legacy will forever remain with all those that knew her.
Funeral services for Judy Kay Salyer will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Salyersville Freewill Baptist Church with Floyd Arnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Patrick Cemetery, on College Heights in Salyersville, Kentucky.
