Katherine Mae Williams Bailey age 71 of Campton, Kentucky passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 at her home. Katherine Bailey was born July 19, 1951 to Arnold and Delphia Auxier Williams of Right Hand Middlefork. She is married to Donnie Bailey of Campton, Kentucky. They have three children. Randy (wife Sharon Back) of Salyersville, Kentucky, Amanda Back and Melinda Bailey of Campton, Kentucky including one special nephew James Risner.
She is survived by three grandchildren Brandon Allen Back, Chassity Nicole Back and Abigail Beth Back.
Three sisters, Carolyn Sue Williams of Camargo, Eunice Arnett of Mount Sterling, and Gloria (husband Mike Bailey) of West Liberty. Including one brother, Roy Williams of West Liberty.
Proceeded in death are her parents Arnold and Delphia, along with four brothers, Virgil Williams, Johnnie Williams, James Edward Williams and JW Williams. Four sisters Eve Mae Higgens (Dolly), Imogene Higgins, Angeline Williams and Jewel Marie Harris.
Katherine was known to her many nieces and nephews as Aunt Kappy. She was a homemaker and a farmer until her sickness took a toll on her. She was a survivor of breast cancer. She battled a lifelong chronic illness with polycystic kidney and liver disease.
She was a member of the Fritz Church of God on Middle Fork and the Belknap Community Church in Wolfe County. She spent many hours doing the Lord’s work, collecting donations and help people in need. Katherine was always thinking of others before herself. She loved people and people loved her.
Katherine was a loving wife and mother. She was the glue of the family. Katherine enjoyed working with the Magoffin County Historical Society researching and making books enjoyed by the community. She loved gardening and canning, being with her family and friends and would often talk for hours. Katherine leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins that will sadly miss her.
Funeral services for Katherine Bailey will be conducted at 1 P.M. Friday, August 12, 2022 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Dallas Patrick and Billy Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey-Back Cemetery at Campton, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Magoffin County Funeral Home, Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 2pm to 9pm and anytime Friday prior to funeral services.
