SALYERSVILLE – A Magoffin County man was arrested on rape-related charges.
According to the arrest citation, Jared B. Owens, 26, of Salyersville, was arrested at his residence on Tuesday after allegations from a juvenile female were made to Kentucky State Police, claiming he forcibly raped the minor two days prior.
He was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, where he remains at press time, charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse.
Owens was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning in the felony-level case, though the result of that hearing is unknown at press time and no other court date has been scheduled.
