Marcus Conley age 85 of Salyersville, died peacefully at his home, Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
Born in Magoffin County, he was the youngest child of John C. and Mary (Perkins) Conley. He grew up on the family farm in Salyersville. He graduated from Salyersville High School and then served in the US Army. He moved to Michigan in the late 1960s where he began a forty-year career as a pipefitter at Ford Motor Company. He never forgot his Kentucky roots, and, upon retirement, he moved to Salyersville where he remained.
Throughout his life he was known as a dedicated hard worker. He was always fixing, building, or otherwise tinkering with something. He enjoyed these projects as well as taking time to travel to various places around the country. Kentucky was always his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Garnett Arnett, Mildred Grimm, Joe Forest Conley, Robert Conley, John Ray Conley, Lillian Conley, Dorsey Conley, and Nancy Nayer.
He is survived by his son, Steve (Nancy) Conley, grandsons, TJ (Kelly) and Jon, and numerous nieces and nephews, particularly, Dwayne and Stefanie Adams, who looked after him with loving care. He was a member of the Half Mountain United Baptist Church, where he met many friends. He will be missed by all.
Visitation was held at the Magoffin County Funeral Home on Monday, July 25, 2022, with the funeral service following and Greg Minix officiating. Entombment will follow at the Highlands Memorial Park Cemetery in Staffordsville, Kentucky.

Military rites were given by the Salyersville D.A.V. Chapter 15 the day of service.
