Mary Jo Waugh Adams

Mary Jo (Waugh) Adams of Paintsville, Kentucky passed away September 18, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Mary Jo was born August 30, 1936 to the late Oscar Waugh and Virgie (Maggard) Waugh of Pike County, Kentucky. She was one of five children. Mary Jo lived her entire life for her family. She was a retired counselor at the Carl D. Perkins Rehabilitation Center, where she not only loved her students, but her coworkers as well. She was an avid reader, who knew no stranger, and she never went anywhere unless her hair was curled, nails were painted, and pearls were worn. Mary Jo was definitely one beautiful woman everyone loved. She was married to the late Billy Ray Adams, and is preceeded in death by her husband, father and mother, her loving son Joseph (Joey) Ray Adams, one sister Joy Sue Waugh, and one brother Danny Waugh. Survivors include her son William Keith Adams (Elizabeth Jenkins), a loving daughter in law Eloise Adams, four grandchildren Kristen (Billy) Graves, Corey (Krystnka) Adams, Kameron Adams (Jason Stapleton), Abigail Adams (Hunter Lafferty), two great grandchildren Lucas Graves and Conner Graves, and one very special friend Diane Carter. Mary Jo is also survived by one sister Bridgette (Sharon) Fugate, and one brother Jimmy Waugh, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary Jo Adams spent a life well lived.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 25, 2021 from the Magoffin Country Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Highlands Memorial Park in Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends my visit the funeral home Friday, September 24, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. and any time prior to funeral services.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
