Millard Preston, Junior, age 89, a resident of Chillicothe, Ohio, formerly of Salyersville; passed away Friday, April 9. 2021 at the Heartland of Chillicothe Nursing Facility in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Junior was born August 4, 1931 in Wheelright, Kentucky the son of Millard Sr. and Pearlie Caudill Preston. Brothers, Robert Lee Preston, Herbert Preston, Earnest Preston, Clyde Preston, Billy Ray Preston, and sisters, Pauline Rasnick and Gracie Montgomery also preceded in death.
Junior proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corp in the Korean War prior to being honorably discharged. After returning home he was employed as a carpenter until retirement.
Those left to mourn includes daughter, Rhonda Lynn Murray and husband Anthony of Chillicothe, Ohio, sons, Curtis Lee Preston and wife Darlene of Pikeville, Kentucky, Darrell Preston and companion Donna Powell of Harlan, Kentucky, seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Millard Preston Junior will be conducted Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Carl Howard, Danny Varney, and Haskel Gullett delivered comforting words on the day of service.
Interment followed in the Brown Fork Cemetery on Lacy in Salyersville, Kentucky. Military Rites were given by the Magoffin County Chapter 15 DAV on the day of service.
