Phyllis Wanda Blanton age 85 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. She was born November 11, 1935 in Gordon, West Virginia to the late Emory and Dora Marie Calhoun Hughes.
Survivors include, three sons, Kelly (Marcella) Blanton, Jr of Salyersville, Kentucky, James Blanton of Oil Springs, Kentucky, Larry Joe (Mary) Blanton of Flat Gap, Kentucky, six daughters, Stella Mae (Sam) Conley, Bonnie (Harm) Blanton, Michael Marie (Hanson) Rowe, Cassie “Cat” (Louie) Blanton, Rose (Eugene) Bays, all of Salyersville, Kentucky, Martha (Glen) Slone of Berea, Kentucky, two sisters, Michelle Daniels, Uzzilla Bernice Watson, several, grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by stepfather William F. Bulter, husband, Kelly Blanton, two son, Paul Blanton, James E, Jenkins, two brothers, Paul Hughes, Carl Hughes, two sisters, Joan (Jo Ann) Davis and infant Julie Hughes.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 27, 2021 from the Flat Fork Freewill Baptist Church with Dennis Marshall officiating. Burial followed in the Blanton and Bishop Cemetery at Jellico, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
