Vera Sue Howard age 71 of LaPorte, Indiana formerly of Magoffin County, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Northwest Health Care Center in LaPorte, Indiana from a extended illness. She was born in Magoffin County to the late Troy Minix Jr. and Rosie Cibock Whitaker.
She is survived by her daughter Kayla Lindsey Howard, son in law Clinton Comer, six grandchildren, Sierra Sue Tracy, Troy Joe Hay, Alexis Elaine Tracy, Brooklyn Rose Howard, Micha Lynn Howard, Rosalee Darlene Comer, very special sister at heart-cousin Irene Hackworth, one aunt, Anitha Minix Wireman.
In addition to her parents, Vera is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Howard, one grandson, Norman Stevens Tracy the third, two uncles, John Walter Minix, Lewis Whitaker, eleven aunts, Irene Arnett, Ester Allen, Vera Howard, Jean Arnett, Dorothy Helen Holbrook, Bessie Sparks, Mae Hall, Eva Fletcher, Oma Caudill, Anna Bailey, and Osie Howard.
Private Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Coon Whitaker Cemetery at Puncheon Creek, Kentucky.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
