Last week the United States Trampoline and Tumbling Association (USTA) hosted their National Championships in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Athletes from all over the country, comprised of 108 teams, competed in Tumbling and Double Mini and Trampoline events for a national spot on the podium.
Salyersville native, Dalia Howard (8 yrs), daughter of Shandie Howard and special daughter to Amber Stephens, placed 10th in the nation in Tumbling for her age, therefore, securing herself another National Top ten spot.
For the past four years, Dalia has competed on the Spark Athletics Trampoline & Tumbling team in Hazard KY. Her coaches are Holly Slone and Sara Baker.
Dalia is a three-time Tumbling Kentucky State Champion and a Kentucky State Champion on trampoline. She has earned four Kentucky State runner-up titles for Double Mini and one for Trampoline. This year she won her 6th National Top 10 title. Congratulations, Dalia!
