Community Day in person has been canceled for 2025. In light of Chairman Scotty B Patrick’s passing in September, the Magoffin County Community Foundation Board decided to allow the groups to continue to raise money on their own as in prior years, these funds will be matched in the same manner as the in-person event. Members of the foundation board met with non-profit group representatives on May 1st and advised them of the change for 2025. They are in the process of raising money in various ways over the last several months with fish fries, community yard sales, golf scrambles, etc.
The only change to this year’s Community Day is the one-day event will not be conducted in the park. The participating non-profit groups are still raising money, which will be matched by the Foundation in the manner that Scotty always did in the past.
We are sorry that the in-person event had to be cancelled, but we plan on being back in 2026 bigger and better than ever. Get out and support the participating non-profit groups as you have always done in the past.
