Rosetta Salyers

(July 03, 1935 – December 18, 2020)

(July 03, 1935 - December 18, 2020)

Rosetta Salyers age 85 went home peacefully to Jesus on Friday, December 18, 2020. She was born July 03, 1935 in New Boston, Ohio, the daughter of Beecher Wilson and Nella Barnett Salyers.
Rosetta was a very hard worker all her life. Her hands were rarely still.

She was an amazing Mother to entire family and everyone who met her instantly loved her. She was an incredible writer/story teller and most importantly she loved the Lord Jesus Christ with her whole heart.

At the age of 17 she gave her heart to God and became the second member of the Stinson Freewill Baptist Church in Stinson, Kentucky. Her grandfather John Barnett was the first member. She was baptized in 1954 by Rev. Earl Willis and Homer Trusty. She worked hard to build the little church and taught Sunday School in the Stinson School house before the church was built. She became the clerk at the church, a duty she carried out faithfully. In 1991, when the Lakeville Freewill Baptist Church was built she became secretary to Pastor Floyd Arnett and would later become the church custodian which she took great pride in. She clearly loved her work at the church and was faithful to the church and the Lord.

She leaves behind her dearest treasures, her family. She is survived by seven children, Kathy Lynn Minix of Salyersville, Kentucky, Kenneth Wayne Carty (Pam) of Salyersville, Kentucky, Timmy Lee Carty (Regina) of Salyersville, Kentucky, Debbie Faye Lewis (Rick) of Morehead, Kentucky, Bobby Neal Carty (Carrie) of West Liberty, Kentucky, John David Carty (Edwina) of Salyersville, Kentucky, and Sheila Kaye Carty of Staffordsville, Kentucky, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She had a very special relationship with her dear friend and caregiver Wittney Lovely.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Oral Barnett and Kenneth Rogers and one great granddaughter, Jerica Lashae Arnett.

Graveside services were conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from the Highlands Memorial Park in Staffordsville, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, she requested that contributions be made in honor of Rosetta Salyers to the Stinson Freewill Baptist Church of Stinson, Kentucky.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
