Caudill Accepted to Kentucky State Police Youth Academy

Daegan Caudill

SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — Daegan Caudill, 16-year-old son of Shandie Howard and a sophomore at Magoffin County High School, has been accepted into the Kentucky State Police Youth Academy. He will be the first student from MCHS.

This summer, Daegan will spend a week on Trooper Island, where he will participate in a hands-on program designed to introduce students to the responsibilities, training, and career opportunities within law enforcement. The program provides participants with an inside look at what it takes to become a Kentucky State Police Officer.

Acceptance into the academy is highly competitive. Out of numerous applicants from across the state, only 50 students were selected. Applicants were required to submit an essay and obtain a letter of recommendation as part of the application process.

Daegan’s acceptance reflects his dedication, strong work ethic, and interest in pursuing a future in law enforcement. His family is especially grateful for the encouragement and guidance he has received from his criminal justice teacher, who has continually motivated him to reach his full potential.

As he prepares for this exciting experience, Daegan looks forward to learning from Kentucky State Police officers and gaining valuable leadership skills that will help shape his future.

His family couldn’t be prouder of this accomplishment and the young man he is becoming.

Congratulations, Daegan Caudill — the future looks bright for this future Kentucky State Police Officer.
