Rita Ruth Elrod, age 71, a resident of Howard Drive in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away peacefully at Pikeville Medical Center on Monday, December 4, 2023.
Rita was born April 5, 1952 in Ypsilanti, Michigan the daughter of the late Marion Robert Elrod and Naomi Howard Elrod. Son, Robbie Reed, sisters, Tammy Cooper, Arlene Stephens, Jolene McFarlan preceded in death.
Rita was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family, friends, and beloved cats.
Those left to mourn includes daughter, Kimberly Bolen of Salyersville, Kentucky, Companion, Stanley VanHoose, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a host of family and friends who love and miss her.
Funeral services for Rita Elrod will be conducted Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 6:00 PM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. Clergy Arbadella Reed will deliver comforting words on the day of service. The family will welcome friends Thursday, December 7, after 5:00 PM and anytime prior to services. Contributions can be made to the memorial fund here at the Salyersville Funeral Home.
