SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (March 13, 2024) – Kentucky State Police arrested two individuals on March 07, 2024, after illegal drugs were discovered during a traffic safety checkpoint.
KSP troopers, along with Post 9’s Drug Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic safety checkpoint in the Salyersville community of Magoffin County. During the safety checkpoint, approximately 75 grams of suspected fentanyl, one pound of suspected marijuana, an ounce of suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm were seized.
Armando Elizondo, 24, of Lexington, was arrested and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on charges of Trafficking Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Trafficking Marijuana, Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon, and other traffic related violations.
Chad Wallen, 41, of East Point, was arrested and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on charges of Trafficking Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
