Theda Connelley Watkins, age 86, a resident of Falcon Road in Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at her home peacefully with family.
Theda was born July 28, 1938 in Salyersville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Dr. Walter Connelley and Lucy Dyer Borders. Husband, Willie Watkins, sisters, Edith Stafford, Louise Conley, Candace Lacy, brothers, Belsey Connelley, Francis Connelley, Ed Connelley, Pitt Connelley, Gus Connelley, John Russell Connelley, Marcus Connelley, Dona C. Arnett, Frances Harper and granddaughter, Amy Eastep Meade preceded her in death.
Theda was a business owner and seamstress until her retirement. She loved spending time with her family and friends as much as often as she could.
Those left to mourn includes daughter, Karen Watkins of Salyersville, Kentucky, son, John W. Watkins of Salyersville, Kentucky, grandson Dwayne Eastep of Salyersville, Kentucky, great grandchildren, Conner Meade of Stanton, Kentucky, Kaisen Eastep of Erlanger, Kentucky, Lexi Meade of Mooresville, North Carolina, McKenley Eastep of Salyersville, Kentucky, Bristol Eastep of Salyersville, Kentucky, great great-grandchild, Sara Ann Meade of Stanton, Kentucky, a host of family and friends who love and miss her.
Funeral services for Theda Watkins will be conducted Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Larry Williams and Tim Watkins will deliver comforting words on the day of services. Interment will follow in the Cleve Bailey Cemetery in Carver, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends anytime prior to funeral services.
