SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County senior catcher Abby Barnett has been named Second Team All-State.
The Kentucky Softball Coaches Association honored Barnett.
A longtime leader for Magoffin County, Barnett excelled throughout her senior campaign. Barnett thrived both offensively and defensively during her final prep year. As a senior, Barnett batted .409 with 27 hits, 17 RBIs, seven doubles and five home runs. Barnett scored 32 runs, drew eight walks and recorded 20 stolen bases. She was instrumental in Magoffin County putting together a winning record. The Lady Hornets, under the direction of Coach Tony Skaggs, compiled a 12-11 record in the 2026 high school softball season.
