Hornets fall to Tigers in shutout

SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County was held scoreless as Paintsville won 7-0 in a 57th District baseball game on Wednesday, April 29.

Dixon Kincheloe pitched a complete game for Paintsville and earned the win on the mound. Kincheloe recorded 13 strikeouts.

Gavin Arnett pitched three and one-third innings in relief for Magoffin County and suffered the loss on the mound. Arnett recorded three strikeouts.

In addition to Arnett, Parker Bowling pitched in relief for the Hornets. Bowling pitched one and two-thirds innings and logged two strikeouts.
Michael Trusty started on the mound for Magoffin County and pitched the opening inning.

Paintsville scored seven runs on seven hits. Luke Stratton (two hits, two RBIs), Anderson Lauffer (one hit, one RBI), Brody Howell (one hit, one RBI), Shane Blair (one hit), Kruz Howell (one hit) and Colton Short (one hit) each contributed at the plate in Paintsville’s shutout win. Showing speed on the basepaths, Howell legged out a triple.

Brayden Bailey, Brayden Carroll and Aiden Carty each hit safely once for the Hornets.

The win allowed Paintsville to sweep Magoffin County in the two teams’ annual 57th District series.
