LEXINGTON – Magoffin County is ranked sixth in the Lexington Herald-Leader Preseason 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Poll.

The Hornets are listed ahead of Shelby Valley (7), East Ridge (8), Lawrence County (9) and Pike County Central (10).

Magoffin County follows Belfry (5), Paintsville (4), Johnson Central (3), Pikeville (2) and Martin County (1) in the poll.

Magoffin County concluded the 2019-20 season 15-15 following a loss to Martin County in the 57th District Boys’ Basketball Tournament Semifinals.

Boys’ high school basketball teams from across the 15th Region competed in season openers earlier in the week.
