SALYERSVILLE – Magoffin County is matched up against Bath County in the 15th Region Challenge, a preseason boys’ high school basketball event set to be held at Johnson Central High School on Saturday, Nov. 20.
The 15th Region Challenge will feature boys’ high school basketball teams from five different regions. Six 15th Region boys’ basketball teams are in the field for the 15th Region Challenge.
Following a loss to Paintsville in the semifinals of the 57th District Tournament, Magoffin County concluded the 2020-21 boys’ high school basketball season 12-12. Head coach Scott Castle guides the Hornets.
Bath County, under the direction of head coach Bart Williams, a Johnson County native, finished as the 61st District runner-up during the 2020-21 boys’ high school basketball season. The Wildcats exited last season 7-16.
Each of the four 57th District boys’ basketball teams are scheduled to compete in the 15th Region Challenge.
