SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County will compete in multiple passing tournaments early in the 2022 high school football preseason.
John DeRossett is preparing to guide Magoffin County in his first season as the Hornets’ head coach. DeRossett took over the Magoffin County football program in January.
Magoffin County is poised to host visiting teams for a passing session on Thursday, July 14.
The Hornets are slated to compete in a passing tournament at UVA Wise on Friday, July 15.
Back on the field for another event following a short turnaround, Magoffin County is scheduled to participate in a passing tournament at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson on Saturday, July 16.
The Hornets are due to visit Eastern Kentucky University for a third passing tournament on Saturday, July 23.
Several athletes and playmakers are due back on the field for Magoffin County in the 2022 high school football season.
Prior to kicking off the 2022 high school football season on the road at Breathitt County, Magoffin County is slated to compete in multiple scrimmages in August.
A member of Class 3A, District 8, Magoffin County is set to open preseason practice at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 11.
