SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is scheduled to host Leslie County for its home opener in the 2023 high school football season.
The Magoffin County-Leslie County football game is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 1.
Magoffin County and Leslie County did not meet during the 2022 high school football season.
Following the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s latest realignment, Magoffin County remains in Class 3A, District 8.
Leslie County competes in Class 2A, District 6.
Magoffin County has additional home games scheduled versus Martin County, Belfry, Powell County and Morgan County.
The Hornets are slated to visit Montgomery County, Lewis County, Russell, Lawrence County and Estill County for away games.
Magoffin County will open the 2023 high school football season with back-to-back away games at Montgomery County and Lewis County.
Prior to taking the field for a season opener at Montgomery County on Saturday, Aug. 19, Magoffin County will compete in multiple scrimmages.
After showing improvement during the second half of the 2022 high school football season, Magoffin County is a team on the rise.
The Hornets and Eagles did not meet during the 2022 high school football season.
Kickoff for the Magoffin County-Leslie County football game is set for 7:30 p.m.
